Ben Wright’s Skydive 2012

ben-wright

On 2nd June 2012 Ben Wright will be undertaking “The 15k Experience” at Skydive Hibaldstow to raise money and awareness for KEEPTHEBEAT.
Ben will arrive at the airfield at 8am on the 2nd June and undertake only a 20 minutes briefing before being kitted with a jumpsuit and special dual harness before taking to the air.
Once on the aircraft, it will take less than 15 minutes to reach skydiving altitude which is 3 miles above the dropzone!
It will then be time for Ben (attached to a fully qualified skydive instructor) to leap from the open door of the aircraft and plummet in free fall for a full minute!
During this minute Ben will fall around 10,000 feet!
Once around 5,000 feet the instructor will open the parachute and their will 5 minutes of open canopy falling before landing in the dropzone!

About My Event:
I have always said that a skydive is something I will eventually do (even though I have always hated heights). After speaking to my boss at work (who had completed a skydiving course when he was around my age) I decided now was the best time to just do it, before I developed some common sense!

So on the 2nd June 2012 I will be throwing myself out of a plane from 15,000 feet.

Fundraising Target £750.00

My Reasons for Supporting KEEPTHEBEAT:

Once I had decided I wanted to book the skydive (before I changed my mind) I discussed what I was going to do with my mum (Belinda) and she told me about KEEPTHEBEAT.

My mum was Albert’s health visitor and had visited Albert on one of her first days in the job. She had been part of the journey that Adam, Annita, Albert and their family had been on during the early months of Albert’s life. Mum told me about how the charity was formed and sent me a link to this website.

After reading the amazing stories of Albert’s, Logan’s and Sofia’s young lives I couldn’t even imagine what it must have been like and decided that I would love to be able to help families who face these difficult times and to ensure that they have all support that KEEPTHEBEAT provides.
